The Senopsys leadership team has over 60 years of combined
experience developing palatable drug products.

Jeffrey H. Worthington, President and Founder

A leading expert in pharmaceutical sensory analysis and formulation
development, Mr. Worthington has more than twenty years of experience in taste assessment and taste masking.  He founded Senopsys to improve the health and quality of life of people around with the world by objectively partnering with drug makers to create patient-accepted pharmaceuticals. 

Prior to founding Senopsys, Mr. Worthington served as Vice President of Pharmaceutical Technology at Arthur D. Little, Inc., where he oversaw the development of formulations for dozens of prescription and over-the-counter medications for a diverse base of global pharmaceutical companies.  Mr. Worthington has published many papers on developing palatable pharmaceuticals and is a frequent conference speaker on the subject.  He has delivered numerous on-site seminars internationally for a range of healthcare organizations and is involved in the National Institutes of Health’s Best Pharmaceuticals for Children Act Program’s Pediatric Formulation Initiative. He holds several patents related to sensory technology. Mr. Worthington earned his BS in Chemistry from Northeastern University and MBA from Babson College. He is a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, the Institute of Food Technologists and The American Chemical Society.

David A. Tisi, Technical Director

Mr. Tisi has spent his career at the intersection of food and pharmaceutical technology and has significant experience developing palatable foods and pharmaceuticals.  As a formulator, he has particular expertise in applying food science and technology to the development of oral pharmaceutical dosage forms.  Mr. Tisi is responsible for overseeing all of Senopsys’ taste assessment and taste optimization activities. 

Prior to joining Senopsys, Mr. Tisi was a Scientist at TIAX LLC where he managed projects to improve the sensory qualities of food and drug products.  He received an MS in Food Science from Cornell University and has several patents pending.  Mr. Tisi is a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the Institute of Food Technologists.

Vanik D. Petrossian, Principal Scientist and Quality Assurance Director

Mr. Petrossian has more than thirty years of experience in food and pharmaceutical product and process development. Widely regarded as a leading expert in the taste masking of drug products, Mr. Petrossian has worked on formulations for a range of medications including antibiotics, antivirals, sleep aides, anti-inflammatories, antihistamines, and chemotherapeutics.  His experience includes developing traditional dosage forms, such as liquid oral solutions, nasal sprays, powders, sachets, chewable tablets and gums, as well as novel dosage forms including fast dissolving tablets, oral films and soft chews.

Before joining Senopsys, Mr. Petrossian was a Principal Scientist at Arthur D. Little, Inc. and its successor, TIAX LLC, where he directed projects in food and pharmaceutical development for clients internationally. Prior to joining Arthur D. Little, Mr. Petrossian held positions at Kraft Foods Inc. in product and process development. He received his BA in chemistry from American University and has completed additional studies in food science and nutrition, pharmaceutical science, technology, and regulations, including Good Clinical Practices and current Good Manufacturing Practices. Mr. Petrossian holds several patents in food and pharmaceutical technology. He is a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the Institute of Food Technologists.
